KY Food Bowl Kick-Off

Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes visited Prestonsburg on Tuesday to kick off the Commonwealth of Kentucky Food Bowl.Her office partnered with the Kentucky Association of Counties for the competition, which is geared to raised donations of food and money for food pantries between Oct. 15 and Oct. 26.State officials reported the inaugural competition raised 250,000 pounds of food for food pantries, and the Big Sandy Area Development District took the overall award, having raised nearly one-third of a pound of food for every person in the counties it serves.
