HEART Program Available For Winter Heating
The Kentucky Service Commission approved Kentucky Power’s plan to help more families in need during the winter.The plan was approved Tuesday. The name of the plan, formerly known as Home Energy Assistance Program is now called the Home Energy Assistance in Reduced Temperatures (HEART) program. The name change came after a proposal filed by Kentucky Power and Community Action Kentucky to revamp and rename the program.HEART assistance will be available from January to April when people use more electricity because of the cold temperatures. To participate, customers must apply through their local community action agency.
