Farmer Assistance Request From KY

This week Governor Matt Bevin submitted a request for an emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky farmers. The request was sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture following months of heavy rains and severe weather, which caused flooding and wind damage across Kentucky. This affected farmers’ crops, buildings, equipment and more. “Kentucky farm families are a vital part of our individual communities and our state’s overall economy,” says Gov. Bevin. he governor hopes his request will get help for farmers to lessen the blow of the harvest losses and lower market prices.
