Governor Bevin Announces Lt. Governor Running Mate

According to the Secretary of State website Governor Bevin has officially filed the necessary paperwork to run again for KY Governor. He will have to beat Robert Goforth and William Woods in the Primary Election in May.During his announcement, Bevin said he will file for reelection with Senator Ralph Alvarado. Alvarado replaces Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton, who was elected with Bevin in 2015.A spokesman for Bevin said Hampton would serve out the remainder of her term. Bevin called Hampton an “extraordinary lieutenant governor” and “a dear and personal friend.” He said adding Alvarado makes it “a pretty solid ticket,” adding he has “a sense of urgency.”
