Team of Nurses Have Vaccinated 21,000 Since Hepatitis A Outbreak Began

A team of nurses has given out more than 21,000 Hepatitis A vaccines since the statewide outbreak of the virus began.

WKYT-TV reports the nurses have traveled across the state administering the vaccines, especially at jails and prisons.

The Kentucky outbreak began in 2017. Since then, more than 4,000 people were diagnosed with the disease. At least 58 people have died.
