Water Line Break Disrupts Service

A water line break has caused problems for some customers along Highway 80. Officials with Perry County Schools tell media outlets East Perry Elementary School was closed on Monday due to the outage.A release from the City of Hazard states a break in a 10″ section of the mainline on that side of town was to blame.A boil water advisory is in effect until further notice for areas from Exit 59 on Highway 80 up to the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter. That includes the Daniel Boone Shopping Center, Fitz Gilbert Drive across the street, Apple Ridge and Winter Way.
