Eastern Kentucky University President Steps Down
Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson has announced that he is stepping down early next year.Benson, who has served in the post since 2013, said in an email to the campus Wednesday that his exit is effective as of Jan. 6, news outlets reported. He said he plans to serve as an adviser to the Board of Regents through a transition period.The arrangement allows him to continue to earn his presidential salary of $400,000 annually until his contract expires in July. He says he is planning to write a book and will fondly remember his time at Eastern Kentucky University.
