Overhauling A Welcome Center
A welcome center in southern Kentucky closed Thursday for demolition and reconstruction, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said.The Simpson County Welcome Center, which borders Tennessee on Interstate 65, was built in 1974. It hasn’t had a major upgrade in decades and needs frequent minor repairs according to news outlets. The center will have limited access for commercial trucks during the closure.The new facility is expected to be completed in the fall of 2020.
