Beshear Calls for Labor Secretary’s Firing Over Blackjewel Standoff

Today marks day six of the Blackjewel miners’ protest. They are still waiting for their unpaid wages.
Governor Matt Bevin addressed the situation during an event in Louisville Friday morning and claimed the President is ‘aware of it.’

At the same time yesterday, Attorney General Andy Beshear called for the firing of Labor Secretary David Dickerson. He said Dickerson’s job ” is to look out for our workers, but he failed to secure the bond from Blackjewel that could have paid the coal miners in Harlan County.”
