Beshear Extends Statewide School Closure Until Late APril
Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday recommended that schools remain closed until late April to help contain the new coronavirus.
The governor said he asked superintendents to extend school closures until at least April 20. Beshear had previously asked districts to close for at least two weeks as the state ramped up efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
Districts statewide have complied and finished their first week of closures on Friday. A few states, including Kansas, have told parents to expect schools to remain closed until next school year.
