The first phase of the KentuckyWired broadband project is finished. Governor Matt Bevin and Congressman Hal Rogers announced the news recently. “This digital interstate is one giant step closer to coming to your county seats,” said Congressman Rogers. The first portion of the network is known as Ring 1A. It includes Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. “People who are already in that community want to be able to have access to these rings and to the next rings that are coming,” said Gov. Bevin. Another segment spanning from Lexington to Somerset is also done. This is in preparation for the second phase – bringing the network into Eastern Kentucky.
