Bevin and Beshear Win Primary

Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has cleared his first hurdle toward a second term, defeating three challengers to win the Republican nomination.Bevin beat three Republican challengers in Tuesday’s primary election. They were state Rep. Robert Goforth, William Woods and Ike Lawrence.Goforth carried much of Eastern and Southern Kentucky but, in the end, he lost by more than 30,000 votes. The underdog said challenging the governor was worth the effort. Kentucky’s AG Andy Beshear also won the democratic nomination for Governor.
