Bipartisan Push to Investigate Bevin’s Pardon Spree

Republicans and Democrats alike in Frankfort are calling on federal and state prosecutors to investigate a last-minute spree of pardons handed out by former Governor Matt Bevin, including one for a convicted killer whose family also raised more than $25,000 in campaign money for the ex-governor.

Bevin issued more than 400 pardons since the Nov. 5 election.

Senate President Robert Stivers condemned Bevin’s actions as “a travesty and perversion of justice” and called on the U.S. attorney in Kentucky to investigate.
