Breathitt County Budget Passes

Monday the Breathitt County budget, as proposed, passed by a 3-2 vote. “I’m happy and I think the citizens of Breathitt County will be happy and we can all get back to normal,” said Sheriff John Hollan. Judge Noble objected to the increase in the budget because he believes the department can operate on less, as it has in the past. “The 2018, the previous sheriff’s budget 2018 at 128,000 dollar cap, but they decided to go up to 226,000 and I just don’t know where the finances are going to come from,” said Noble.However, Hollan says the increase is necessary in order to properly serve the people of Breathitt County.
