Christmas Tree Lighting

Tuesday evening downtown Hazard held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.Judge-Executive Scott Alexander and others gathered in front of the Perry County Courthouse as the tree was lit at around 6 p.m., kicking off ‘Christmas in a small town’.The tree is synchronized to 50 different Christmas carols.There was also a community Thanksgiving prayer service at the First Baptist Church downtown.Before the tree-lighting, there was a pop-up market at the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky along Main Street.
