Harvest Worship Center in Harlan accepted donations for Blackjewel miners from other churches, including some from other states.”We’ve raised about $11,000. God’s really blessed us,” said Harvest Worship Center’s Pastor Roland Lee.The event started at 7 p.m. on Monday at Harvest Worship Center’s Family Life Center. Each minor who brought a Blackjewel paystub and valid driver’s license received $50-$150 based on the size of their family.The miners that showed up were very grateful of the churches coming together to raise money.Our Father’s House in Pineville also handed out money to Blackjewel miners in Bell County. Pastor Lee said overall the over $11,000 went to 76 families between the two events.
