The drug epidemic and other factors according to local police is contributing to alarming numbers of break-ins and burglaries.To make sure people not only keep their homes safer but their communities, police are helping to create local neighborhood watch programs.At a gathering with nearly 70 people Monday evening at the Bush Fire Department in Laurel County, sheriff’s office officials taught the group how to create their own neighborhood watch programs.”60%, over half the crimes are solved by somebody that sees something or can identify something”, says Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
