Eastern KY Internet Provider Files For Bankruptcy

Windstream Holdings Inc,, one of the largest TV and internet service providers in eastern Kentucky, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday.The move follows a decision from a federal judge against company subsidiary Windstream Services, LLC.Windstream says the judge’s decision accelerated debt issues.Windstream will receive a $1 billion loan from Citigroup in an effort to stay afloat.In a statement, CEO Tony Thomas says, “Taking this proactive step will ensure that Windstream has access to the capital and resources we need to continue building on Windstream’s strong operational momentum.
