Effects Of Flooding Felt In Eastern KY

Heavy rain has caused some flooding issues in eastern Kentucky.It appears some of the worst hit areas are in Johnson, Martin, Magoffin and Floyd counties.In Johnson County, high water has closed several roads. 911 dispatchers are urging people in the area to stay off the roads due to the issues. in addition to high water in those areas , there are lots of downed trees. Again officials are urging drivers to avoid high water areas and not try to drive through them. Also in Johnson County Schools today will experience an NTI Day and students will not report. Superintendent Thom Cochran made the announcement Sunday. The school board says while school will not be in session, the schools will be open for anyone who does not have power to complete assignments.
