Emergency Shelter In Pikeville Receives Important Grant

The West Care Emergency Shelter in Pikeville recently received an important grant. Case Manager Anna Wakeland says this month they got a new grant called Grants to Benefit Homeless Individuals.The new grant allows them to help more people. She says with that grant, we were able to hire a doctor on staff, a mental health provider. We have a substance abuse provider. We have two more case managers, a peer support specialist and a program director, actually. And, they are also expanding their bed number from 30 to 45.
