Fire Destroys Popular Restaurant

An early-morning fire in the Caney area of Pike County was the end for a restaurant that many people say was a favorite in the community.Shelby Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call at around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to find Mi San Felipe, a Mexican food restaurant, engulfed in flames.Community members said it was one of the only restaurants of its caliber they could go to without traveling a long distance.The fire marshal said the fire was made worse by the metal exterior of the building. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but is still under investigation.
