Floyd County Holds Mock Disaster Preparation Day
Floyd County Emergency Management held a mock disaster training Wednesday, giving emergency response crew members a chance to get a hands-on simulation of a potential tornado, based on the tornado that tore through Salyersville in 2012.”We all got together to discusses what went right, what went wrong, what we should have done different, what we should have done better, and how we can change things so that when it really happens, we handle it better,” said Floyd County Emergency Management Director Tim Fields.Emergency response crews and local hospitals joined together to take part in the training day, which Fields said is an important part of correcting any underlying problems.
