Former Finance Director Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement

The former finance director of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $4 million from the agency.Citing the Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney, The Kentucky Enquirer reports that Bridget Johnson admitted to using her position to send checks from the bureau’s online bank accounts to scam artists. Prosecutors said she altered banking records to hide the fraudulent activity.Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders said those on the receiving end would keep some money and wire the rest to overseas bank accounts.
