Former Non-Proft Director Sentenced
The former director of a western Kentucky nonprofit has been sentenced to eight years in prison for stealing nearly $25,000 from the organization that police said went to pay social media scammers.McCracken Circuit Court Judge W.A. “Tony” Kitchen declined a request on Monday that David Boggs, 51, receive probation, saying it would “unduly depreciate the seriousness” of the crime, The Paducah Sun reported.Boggs pleaded guilty in September to taking the money from Paducah’s annual Barbecue on the River. He was arrested in May in Columbia, South Carolina, after being on the run since November 2018.
