Franklin Co. ‘Real ID’ Issues Force State to Delay Rollout
Residents of both Franklin and Woodford Counties now have access to Kentucky’s new Real ID driver’s licenses.
It hasn’t been easy for workers, though. Some told WKYT-TV that because of demand and technical problems, state officials have now hit pause on rolling out the licenses to the rest of the state.
On average, Franklin County officials say they’ve been processing as many as 80 applications per day.
Real IDs will be needed for domestic travel without a passport next fall.
