Funding For Roads In Harlan County

At a community forum in Harlan Thursday, Governor Matt Bevin announced $802,000 in Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) funding for Harlan County.”One of the worst sections where you have a lot of wash-out needs to be graded, needs to be lifted”, said Governor Bevin. “And so we’re going to spend about $802,000 out of the transportation cabinet to fix a half mile of that.”The funds will go toward reconstructing a half-mile section of U.S. 421. This is expected to eliminate chronic flooding issues along the route.
