Gas Prices Up In KY
Normally gas prices drop this time of year, but you may have noticed this year it’s not the case.According to AAA, Kentucky had the second highest increase in gas price in the nation compared to last week.“The September switch-over to winter-blend gasoline should have ushered in cheaper gas prices compared to the summer, but Kentuckians have not seen any relief at the pumps,” said Lori Weaver Hawkins, public and government affairs manager, AAA Bluegrass and says we are also still feeling the impact of regional refinery maintenance. Unfortunately, that means fall and year-end prices could stay unseasonably expensive.”Hurricanes could also be a reason your wallet feels a pinch at the pump. AAA says the mere threat of a hurricane can increase gas prices locally and regionally.
