Governor Signing School Safety Bill

Governor Matt Bevin will ceremonially sign the recently passed School Safety Bill into law Wednesday in Frankfort.The state Senate passed Senate Bill 1 late last month in a 37 to 0 vote.It cleared the House of Representatives on a 96 to 3 vote a day earlier.The bill calls fore the creation of a statewide school safety marshal, police officers in every school, and at least one counselor for every 250 students.The measure was created in response to the Marshall County High School shooting.The signing is set for 10 a.m. at the state Capitol.
