Harlan Co. Judge Executive Asking Beshear to Extend Unemployment Benefits

Harlan County Judge Executive Dan Mosley has asked Governor Andy Beshear to extend unemployment benefits for the Blackjewel miners that were laid off when the company went under.

In a letter, Mosley asked the governor to do “anything in his power to extend the unemployment benefits to all the Blackjewel miners in Harlan County and the surrounding counties.”

Mosley told WYMT-TV that he wrote the letter earlier this month and is hopeful to hear back ‘soon.’
