Hazard Hotel Clerk Suing Manager, Hampton Inn Over Religious Discrimination

A clerk at a Hazard motel is suing, claiming his manager at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Sharon Lindon, told him he had “demons that were causing his marital problems” and would have to undergo an exorcism at her church.

He’s suing after being forced to quit over what he called religious discrimination and harassment. Jason Fields told the AP that Lindon gave him a packet of “invasive questions” about his beliefs and sex life, including one question that asked he belonged to a cult.

Listed in the examples of cults were Mormons, Native religions, Buddhism, and Islam. A statement from Hampton Inn says they oppose discrimination and will investigate.
