Hepatitis A Vaccines Flying Off Shelves Across Eastern Kentucky
More and more schools and businesses are now requiring students and employees to get a Hepatitis A vaccine in the wake of a statewide outbreak.
About two weeks ago, patrons of a Manchester McDonald’s were urged to get the shot after a worker there tested positive for Hepatitis A.
No vaccine shortages have yet been reported, although pharmacy officials are saying the number of vaccines they are giving out are at a near-record high.
The Hepatitis A shot is covered by the majority of insurance plans, including Medicaid and Obamacare plans since it counts as a preventative measure.
