Honoring A President
Flags across America including KY are standing at half-staff in honor of former President George Herbert Walker Bush who died Friday. Historians say the act of lowering flags to half-staff goes back to the Middle Ages and in 1954 President Eisenhower made it official policy.Governor Matt Bevin has ordered state flags lowered and President Donald Trump did the same for federal buildings. Those orders will have the flags remain at half-staff until sunset on December 13.
