Keep The Cold Away Drive Needs Donations

The annual “A Coat To Keep The Cold Away” coat drive is coming to a close. The organizer says they still need about 1,000 new coats to fulfill all their requests. Local artist and activist Devine Carama says the number of requests for brand new winter coats has increased this year. Last weekend, Carama walked in the cold to Morehead to raise awareness. The last day to donate will be Monday, Dec. 17. You can donate on the organization’s website at www.believinginforever.com/countdown. Brand new youth coats can be dropped off to the Plantory at 501 W. 6th Street, Suite 250, Lexington, Ky, 40508.
