Kentucky Waterman Series Ready To Go
Tourism officials say the paddlesports event is part of the Kentucky Waterman series and promotes tourism in Laurel County.In past years the attendance has been between 80 and 200 people, and this year, officials expect the same turnout.There will be a 1.5 mile, 5 mile, and 10-mile races for participants. Kelly Burton, Co-Executive Director of London-Laurel County Tourism says the 2nd annual Cove of Youth 1 mile sprint race will allow younger kids a chance to race with any paddle craft, and the race will start shortly after 11 a.m. Age groups are the Little Kahunas ages 5-8, Marlins ages 9-11, Flyish Fish ages 12-14, and Makos ages 14-17 years old.
