Kids Serving The Homeless
Highland Elementary students are serving the homeless by filling up a coat rack, now located in front of the Coffee House on Main Street.”It shows that at any age you can help the community,” says 10-year-old Jayden Estep talking to WYMT. The school’s Community Problem Solving Coach, Andrea Hall, says the group “Warming Warriors” struggled to create a community project until one student walked outside a theater, just across from the coffee shop, and watched a homeless man struggling to keep warm. One studenet remarked you know it could be any of us if a parent loses a job we could be there too.
