Knott County Fiscal Court Votes For Partial Shutdown

Tuesday evening, the Knott County Fiscal Court voted in favor of a partial county government shutdown instead of adding any new taxes to people in the county.Because of serious financial trouble facing the county, three options were presented at the fiscal county meeting: Partial county government shutdown, a 2% occupational tax, or a 6% insurance tax.The court says the policy change will affect funds for roads and now the county will only be able to respond to emergencies.
