KY License Plate Changes

Changes are coming to Kentucky license plates.Starting late next year, new plates will be flat and digitally printed, rather than embossed.The Commonwealth of Kentucky’s transportation cabinet said this will reduce the production costs of bulk manufacturing, storage space, and unused inventory.The background graphics and prices for standard and special license plates will stay the same. Officials say the new plates will gradually replace the old plates that have lost their reflectivity, making it easier for people and electronic tolling devices to read.People with the oldest plates will be offered the new ones first.
