KY Mining Accident Claims A Life
Kentucky authorities have released the name of a man killed in an eastern Kentucky mine accident. The Energy and Environment Cabinet said Jeffery Norman Sloan, 56, of Clinton, Tennessee died after being struck by a shuttle car Monday morning at Toms Fork Mine in Bell County off Ky. 2012. He died after being transported to Pineville Hospital. The mine was licensed in November. Two inspections have occurred since then, and one resulted in a closure for roof control.
