KY Needs Teachers
A new report from the Kentucky Department of Education shows the shortage of teachers continues to grow across the Commonwealth.The data, reported Thursday by “Kentucky Teacher”, a publication of KDE, shows thousands of openings with the start of the new school year only weeks away.Officials say this shortage didn’t just start this year, but have been ongoing for several years. In the 2014-2015 school year, more than 6,200 hundred positions were open. That number climbed to more than 8,800 in the 2016-2017 school year.
