KY’s New Drvier’s Licenses In Limited Roll Out
Kentucky’s new driver’s licenses will begin rolling out in Franklin County today as part of the pilot phase of issuance in the state. Franklin County residents are urged to gather required documents before visiting the Circuit Court Clerk office to apply.Driver’s licensing offices in Franklin County were closed Thursday, June 27 to allow for the installation of new equipment. Officials say applicants requesting the new Voluntary Travel ID, or those applying for a license, permit or personal ID for the first time, must present documentation verifying identity, social security number, and residency. The pilot phase rollout will be extened to other KY counties soon. The ID’s are needed by October 2020 for travel verification and other governmental business.
