Lake Cumberland Getting Back To Normal Level

The third largest lake in Kentucky reached historic highs in February. Nearly a month later, it’s almost down to its normal level. As of Tuesday, the lake’s elevation was about 725 feet above sea level. Normal summer pool is about 720 feet. The lake looks great and people in the area said they are ready for a good summer boating season. Some said the lake being as high as it was may be a good thing.”I think it’s going to be better. It got up so high, all the debris will be lodged on the banks and easier for cleanup, instead of being out on the water,” said Harvey Maynard from Lookout Marine.
