Leslie County Animal Shelter Undergoing Renovations
The Leslie County Animal Shelter is temporarily closing its doors to the public for a few months, but no worries, the animals are still being taken care of. “Nothing has really changed it’s just we’re not adopting, but we’re taking care of the animals,” said Leslie County Judge Executive William Lewis. Lewis said he chose to use some of the county’s coal severance funds to upgrade the animal shelter. He says the current condition isn’t very good. The dogs at the shelter are currently kept in kennels outside. As part of the renovations, the dogs will be moved indoors for warmth. The shelter will also have better internet access and surveillance cameras.
