Madison Co. Deputies Recovering After I-75 Crash

Two Madison County Sheriff’s deputies were taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate 75 on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened around 12pm near Richmond and left the northbound lanes closed for most of the afternoon.

Officials say the two unnamed deputies had pulled over a truck and were talking to the driver when an SUV crashed into their cruiser. That caused the SUV to flip over and throw one deputy across the guardrail.

None of their injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
