McConnell’s Challenger Is Criticized

Kentucky’s U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell’s campaign is wasting no time hitting back at Democratic candidate Amy McGrath. Within an hour of McGrath announcing her plans to run for the Democratic primary for McConnell’s seat, the campaign launched the website WrongPathMcGrath.com“Amy McGrath lost her only race in a Democratic wave election because she is an extreme liberal who is far out of touch with Kentuckians. Comparing President Trump’s election to 9/11 and endorsing a government takeover of healthcare is a platform that we will be delighted to discuss over the next sixteen months,” McConnell campaign manager Kevin Golden says in a statement sent to LEX 18.
