Mining Film Opens This Weekend

An independent film telling the story of Appalachian coal miners trapped underground after a methane explosion opens this weekend.The film “Mine 9”, directed, written and produced by Eddie Mensore, centers around nine miners with only a one-hour supply of oxygen and their struggle to escape alive.The thriller opens on limited screens, but will show in Hazard, Harlan and Pikeville. The movie will also debut in West Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.
