Misconceptions About Flu Shots

Recent numbers from the CDC say 80,000 people died from the flu last year. So, Big Sandy Healthcare in Floyd County kicked off its flu vaccination program Friday with officials dressed as superheroes and addressing misconceptions. Officials say the flu isn’t a live virus and doesn’t make you sick. So, if you get sick you would have had to be sick before you got your flu shot. Big Sandy Healthcare is encouraing everyone to get a flu shot for themselves and the community.
