More SE Kentucky Miners Laid Off Without Notice

For the second time in less than a year, miners in SE Kentucky were laid off without any notice.

This time, it was the workers of Perry County Coal.

In October, the company laid off at least ten miners in Hazard. Then late in December, all of the remaining workers were told they were out of a job.

Perry County Judge Executive Scott Alexander says the company has filed no WARN notice with the county.
