Native Glasgow Woman Nominated to Be Next Ambassador to UN

A native Glasgow woman has been nominated the next US Ambassador to the United Nations.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recommended Kelly Knight Craft for the position.

Craft is already the ambassador to Canada and is married to Hazard native Joe Craft, the head of Alliance Resource Partners.

Kelly Craft would be taking over a post that has been vacant since former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley stepped down at the end of 2018.
