Pets Blessed At St. Francis Of Assisi
St. Francis of Assisi School and Catholic Church in Pikeville held its annual Blessing of the Animals ceremony this week. Pet owners brought their animals to the church where they were welcomed with a special prayer and the pets were blessed with holy water. The ceremony is held worldwide every year on or near October 4, which is observed as St. Francis of Assisi’s feast day.
