Pike Central HS Student Searching for Bone Marrow Donor

A Pike Central High School student is searching for a bone marrow donor.

16-year old Shalei Cobb was diagnosed with a rare disease called Neutropenia, and recently found out she has a form of leukemia.

WYMT-TV reports students at Pike Central have organized several drives to alleviate some of her health stressors. Shalei is currently a patient at UK Hospital, has been undergoing chemotherapy, and is currently in remission.

However, she continues receiving “bridge chemo” until a bone marrow match is found.
